This £36m leisure centre at Springwood, Huddersfield commenced construction in 2013 and opened in May 2015. This build features a 25-metre swimming pool; a teaching pool; two sports halls; climbing, squash and martial arts facilities; a large fitness suite; and a café and children’s area. It also includes a family leisure water facility which has its own beach, flume, sidewinder and several more water features. Northern Sealants, along with their fire protection division Northern Firetech, were again Bam’s choice of contractor to undertake all three builders work aspects across the whole site, namely Concrete Cutting, total Fire Protection & Compartmentation of the centre, along with Mastic Sealing to all exterior & interior joints and finishes.
The whole build programme was centred on the construction of the pools, including a competition pool. Northern Sealants carried out all Mastic Sealing to these swimming & leisure pools for the main tiling contractor, The Tiling Company of Newcastle.
